Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the presence of MTHFR gene mutation in autoimmune thyroid disease women with history of miscarriage Patients and methods: Both MTHFR gene mutations were assessed in 300 women with history of miscarriage. 69 women (group A) presented with the history of autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) and 231 women did not suffer of AITD (control group). Both mutations (A1298C and C677T) of were assessed in each patient Results: In group A, 28 women (40.6%) had at least one MTHFR gene mutation. In control group 45 women (19.5%) presented with MTHFR gene mutation. Conclusion In women with history of miscarriage and autoimmunological thyroid disease mutation of at least one loci of MTHFR gene mutation happens more often than in women without AITD.
